I would like to suggest my band AFFORESTED for inclusion on Prog Archives.
We are a new progressive folk rock band and our debut E.P has just been released.
I'm not sure if we will meet your exact criteria for inclusion, as our E.P is available for free, but we are not a demo band looking for a record deal so we don't feel it is suitable for the unsigned section.
Our biography, pictures and music are available from our website here: www.myspace.com/afforested
I look forward to your response!

Hi I'm not from any team(crossover, prog folk and so on)but I just would like to say that your music is very nice and well crafted.Symphonic progressive is present and I enjoy the Circulus feel.Keep up writing good stuff.

Excellent Music lad's....StarStarStarStarStar.

I'm a big fan of this type of music, unfortunately there's doesn't seem to be much around these days
except for Circulus and Blackmore's Night,

I look forward to the album.

Hi everyone,

It's been a couple of weeks since I put AFFORESTED forward for consideration. Has anyone got any news of a decision yet?

It's been a month since I put forward AFFORESTED for suggestion but I haven't heard anything yet.
Can someone from the Prog Folk team please respond and tell me if there has been any decision made.
Thanks.

Afforested,

Apologies for the delay; this thread seems to have slipped under the Prog Folk team's radar till now.

I have downloaded your EP and will be listening to it over lunch (and probably again this evening).  I will provide feedback by tomorrow at the latest.  In the meantime feel free to post or PM me if you have any questions or additional feedback.

Regards,

I think that prog folk is apt for Afforested  Approve
But it has been pointed out to me that bands have to have an album for sale to actually be added.  Perhaps we should check with admin?

Yup.  I listened to their EP three times yesterday and this morning - I'm okay with adding them.  Will be interested to see how much range they have once their first full-length album comes out next year Wink.

As for the 'have to have an album for sale' thing, I don't know of any specific, written policy like this.  I think there might be a policy that the band has to have an album, which Afforested does with this EP.  Chrysalide for example still doesn't have a record or distribution deal that I know of, but they have three albums out which as far as I know can still be downloaded free right from the band's own website.

Regardless, I'm okay with adding Afforested to Prog Folk.  I'll ping Hugues and Ken to get their feedback but I would assume there won't be an issue here.  If all goes well I should be able to add them before the weekend.

Hi Bob and Ken,

Thanks for listening to the EP! It sure will be great if we are accepted for inclusion on the archives.
I would be very grateful if you can keep me informed of any developments of a final decision.
Best wishes,
Jonathan

Glad to oblige - I like your music and the Prog Folk team unanimously agreed to add the band.
