http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=1343 - This album does not belong, as it is just a limited edition of the album right next to it.

Also, their Roine Stolt Mixes version of SMPT:e makes me a little unsure as well. I understand that it is a separate entity from the regular SMPT:e, however, does it necessarily belong in studio albums? It probably fits best in the category it's in, but I figured I'd raise it as a point.

Any thoughts?

Um, what about to ask Mike ? I myself don't know where to put them, but remember, they were considered as USA group for certain amount of time, before somebody changed it recently, so you may be right. Errors happen, but how to recognize error, or how to support your claims, that's the question.

More people needed.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

We can't delete albums that have reviews attached without losing the reviews. We do not have the facility to move the reviews.

This problem is further complicated where two solo artists colaborate and the album gets added twice - then decide to create a band entry for the duo but can't because that would add the album a third time, (see Fripp & Sylvian)

^ hey Dean, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I've moved reviews by going on the admins page and typing in the review number under edit review and when the review comes up you change the album ID at the top of the page. We had two entries for Soft Machine Legacy and I'm pretty sure I moved one review and deleted one of the entries. At least that's how I remember it.

We used to be able to do that, but the field is read only now.

(I'll give it a try anyway)

Well, nuts. You guys can't move reviews any longer? That's a bummer. I mean, I can move albums myself, but it was the currently existing reviews I was having trouble with. I guess all that's left is PMing the folks who wrote reviews and asking them to take their own time to consolidate so that we can clean up the page.

Unfortunately, moving reviews screws up the ratings calculations. M@x will need to do some development work to resolve this. Meanwhile, the earlier we catch such situations, the easier it is to resolve them.

^ Just noticed that we couldn't move some of the reviews and ratings even if the facility were there - some people have reviewed/rated both versions.

Just curious if anything is happening here. It's messing with my OCD!

Also, I would vote to put in the EPs/singles/fan club/etc. category another listing, something like "alternate versions." That way, English copies of PFM's releases don't confuse the heck out of everybody who doesn't speak Italian in addition to their English--and that way the Roine Stolt Mixes will have somewhere they actually belong.

I have lots of mildly helpful but likely incredibly problematic ideas to share. Sorry.

Also, The Flower Kings have two entries for The Rainmaker, one being an illegitimate listing of a deluxe edition.

I think I already reported this, same problem though.

Because I don't know where else to put these (and because the original intent of the thread wouldn't hurt to be bumped), there are three duplicate studio albums on Henry Cow's page--and they only had four studio albums in the first place.

http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=608

I'm sure plenty of people have seen this before, and some may have commented. Are they staying for any good reason? I think they should be consolidated with the original release pages. I'm willing to do the modification for the albums' track listing and release notes if someone with proper pull does the rest of the legwork (provided, of course, that existing reviews don't bar them from doing so).

I'll check it out later!

EDIT.

Just realised that I noticed this a few days ago myself. Problem is reviews again.

But it is such a shame. Ruins the dicography completely.
