And no-one called us to the land
And no-one knows the wheres or whys
But something stirs and something tries
And starts to climb towards the light

Together We're Heavy is a great album imo. Very uplifting music. I like the way their albums seem like one continuous song (the tracks, as well as having proper titles, are labelled 'Section 1',  'Section 2' and so on.) They've reached 'Section 32' so far, so I'm guessing it will continue with their next album.

So, yes, I do listen to the Polyphonic Spree.

There was a huge hype with their first album. Recorded in 3 days with like 30 people. Still, this first remains OK but....oh boy.... that 36min last track (called "a long day", yes a very loooooong one) is nothing but sh*t : repetitive music at it least interesting. But indeed "Together we're heavy" is pretty solid and prog-related without any doubt.
Did not really listen their other albums.

I'm with you on that one d.o.k.

I've heard the name and maybe the music once, so I guess it wasn't enough to get me hooked.  But be careful, I don't want one of their followers to go on a polyphonic shooting spree or a salad shooting spree, for that matter. Tongue

I guess they could be naming themselves after the river:
a river in E Germany, flowing N through Berlin to the Havel River. 220 mi. (354 km) long.

The candy?
Spree candy LOL

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
