There is an charity concert in LA next week with an all-star band featuring Keith Emerson.

What do you think of this band line-up they have scheduled?
Keyboard - Keith Emerson
Vocals - Rob Halford
On Guitar - Steve Lukather / Slash
Drums - Jason Bonham

Here's the link:  http://www.955klos.com/article.asp?id=1621890&spid=16130

I know they're going to play a song from Halford's new Winter Songs CD, and a Priest song too, but I wonder what else they'll be doing.   My favorite genres are prog rock, metal and hard rock so this can be a very interesting gig.

Sounds pretty interesting, good line-up.

Also, who's playing bass? Is Emerson playing synth-bass, or do they have one of their own lesser-known band members on bass?

Hi,

Sorry ... over stuffed and over glorified and over hyped stuff ... put together by one of the scourge FM stations that ruined "prog" in exchange for more commercial music ...

Don't be fooled ... this is about the money, not the show ...  even with Keith!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

That is the oddest bunch of individuals I've ever seen tossed together. I would go to see it in the same way I'd go out on my porch to watch a 40 car pile up on the highway in front of my house.

Well, now....I wonder what they'll be playing? Other than the mentioned songs......

Somehow I can't see Emerson taking a keyboard solo on Breaking the Law

What I think is that they're all trying to make this month's rent.  Emerson never really had the Moog pitch-bend guitar thing down (unlike say Jan Hammer, who had it down so well he could trade licks with Jeff Beck).  Still if they were playing down the street hell yes I'd go see it.
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

This is a christrmas show for a local radio program. All these guys are in LA.

As you can see this group isn't even the headliner.

If Emerson were playing Jazz like Hamner I could see that point however most of Keith's improvs within a group(outside of ELP)  are in the blues.

I suspect something similar to Boys Club (w/ Bonilla and Hughes)...with the incompatible vocals in Tarkus.....
