The original guitarist for Big Brother and the Holding Company has passed.  Many of you will not recognize the name, nor recognize his contributions to rock.  If in doubt, listen to early Big Brother albums with ol' Janis.  Not prog at all, but nonetheless a significant contributor to the music of the time.  Take a listen to their Cheap Thrills for a sense of the racket (I mean that in a good way) he could create.
