Can you give us any kind of heads up on how the finished product will be distributed? Will it be available to download? Will CDs be widely available (Amazon, etc.) or through specialist online dealers?

Hi Glenn: Thank you for your interest. The album will be a regular release and be available worldwide in all the usual places - Amazon, itunes, etc. and will be available on CD as well as download. Signed copies will be available from the website. We're looking at an early to mid summer release.

I'm glad you like the melodies you've heard so far. There is an emphasis on strong melodies on this album. I have my own style of writing, but fans of the melodic writing styles of Andy Latimer, Anthony Phillips, and Justin Hayward should be pleased.

Instrumentation wise, you're going to hear lots of Grand piano, harpsichord, mellotron, cello, oboe, flute, moog, 12string acoustic guitars, trebly bass, soaring guitar leads, etc. Mellotron (both strings and choir) appears on every track and there are lots of dynamics - some quiet passages interupted by lots of bombastic ones. And the harpsichord gives everything a bit of medieval feel. Fans of classic 7 Moody Blues, Barclay James Harvest as a 4 piece, early Crimson, early to mid Genesis with things like Hairless Heart or Mad Man Moon, and of course Camel should hopefully like it.

I'll post the exact release date here when I know. Thanks again for the support and encouragement of all of you. And I agree, Andy's multiple solos on Masquesrade are stunningly beautiful.

Best;
Dave

Hi to all Camel fans:
As promised, I've added a couple of clips featuring Andy Latimer to the website below under the audio/visual link. These are from a new track titled Masquerade. While you're there, you may wish to add yourself to the mailing list.

We've just got one more track to complete and then the album will be finished, hopefully by the end of May. Andy's solos on this track are so beautiful that you should be prepared to get a bit choked up, especially from clip #2. I am constantly reminded just how lucky we are to have this man in our lives.

All the best;
David Minasian

Hi ProgAttic:
I've added 6 new clips. The Chambermaid 2 clip is for Genesis/Hackett fans. And I got a nice email this morning from Andy Latimer who says that the moog solos (from the Panic Attack 1 & Chambermaid 3 clips) remind him of the late great Pete Bardens.

Wow, thanks Andy!

We're nearing the finish line - shouldn't be long now...

Best;
Dave

Hi SouthSide:
I'm glad you liked the clips. I'll be adding 3 or 4 more next week. Fans of the Moodies, Crimson, Floyd, BJH, and Genesis, and of course Camel should enjoy them.

Regarding the setlist for Camel's new DVD, the band also played the track Stationary Traveller that night around the middle of the set which was highlighted by Andy's sublime panflute and guitar solos -  goosebump heaven!

Best;

Dave

Sounds very promising indeed! Do you have a tracklist for the DVD? Wink

We're finalizing it at this very moment. We're hoping we don't have to cut anything. If you google 'Camel setlist Santa Cruz 2003' you should be able to locate the list somewhere. It's a truly excellent performance.

Best;
Dave

I could not find that exact show, but I found the set list for the show two days later:

< ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">< name="ProgId" ="Word.">< name="Generator" ="Microsoft Word 12">< name="Originator" ="Microsoft Word 12">

1.     Lady Fantasy

2.     Unevensong

3.     Hymn To Her

4.     Echoes

5.     Drafted

6.     Rhayader >

7.     Rhayader Goes To Town

8.     Lunar Sea

9.     Another Night

10.  Ice

11.  Spirit Of The Water

12.  Fox Hill

13.  Arubaluba

14.  Mother Road

15.  For Today

16.  Never Let Go

If this is the track list for the DVD is something like this, it looks rather good Smile

Nothing featuring Andy Latimer yet, those samples are still to come.

Thanks Lorenzo. It's greatly appreciated. The new live Camel DVD will be titled The Opening Farewell and should be available within the next few months. Camel Productions should be announcing a release date soon. I think it's one of Camel's best performances with great lighting and stunning audio.

My own album which Andy plays guitar on one of the tracks is nearly complete. I don't have a release date yet for that as I'm still trying to figure out various distribution options. But those who like Camel or melodic prog with a classical touch should enjoy it. The fact that Andy offered to help with the album with all he's been through in the past few years is mind boggling to me. I am honored, touched, and frankly blown away by it. He's a true gentleman.

Dave
