Mad Curry is a Belgian jazz-rock/eclectic prog band from Belgium. They played jazz-rock music lead by organ/sax instruments (a bit like Van Der Graaf Geenrator) and female vocalist with voice similar to Julian's Treatment, Affnity, Curved Air or Earth & Fire singers. They recorded only one album (self-titled) in 1970. However they seem to be active again right now (according to full biography on myspace and official page)

For me this music sound as jazz-rock, and all websites I've checked also describe them as progressive jazz-rock. However now I know that criteria to be included as jazz-rock are very strick here (thanks from information Snobb!!) I'm afraid it won't have a chance to be included as such, however it's surely progressvie rock so I suppose it can fit to eclectic prog in PA.

line-up:

Viona Westra (vocal), Giorgio Chitschenko (saxophone), Danny Rousseau (Hammond organ), Jean Andore (bass), Eddy Kane (drums)

audio (full):

I never really understood why Mad Curry gets so much attention

But these guys are listed in almost every prog place.... so it's a no-brainer

I'm a bit shocked they're not in already.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Classic keyboards-led jazzy early progressive rock (blues based). Reminds me Brian Auger with Julie Driscoll, or even more - Affinity. I think Eclectic is their best place.

Jazz-blues and psych-keybd based rock with spicy avant spice ... great sounds indeed.
Agreed with Slava, fitter for Eclectic methinks.

Actually I'm not sure how prog it is. I'm listening to the samples on the first MySpace and they're not very convincing. Sounds like a late case (post 1969) of the "early progressive" sound. Maybe prog-related if a SC supports their case for the Admin Team.
