I have to say I agree with all but Sonic Youth. Maybe it is because I have an intense dislike for them but in my opinion they are not worthy of ever having the prog label on any of their songs. This is by no means an original though but they honestly are a bunch of Velvet Underground rip offs. It was cool when Lou Reed did it 20 years before them but thats because back then it was original.
An otherwise wonderful list, thanks for posting.

I'd add something by The Verve, either from the jazzy shoegazy early stuff, or from Forth. I need some relistens to make up my mind.

Have not listened to all of them, but I can say that Three Days by Jane's Addiction is an amazing song, I really love it.

Smashing Pumpkins have always seemed pretty proggy to me, though not entirely progressive. They're kind of an obscurity.
