Topic: Top 20 bands/ artists Posted: June 30 2010 at 16:21 |
Can you make a list of your 20 favorite bands? You can explain why you think they are the best if you want to. I think if you can say your top 20, we'll gather a nice long list of great bands.

1-Alice In Chains 2-Opeth 3-Genesis 4-King Crimson 5-Van Der Graaf Generator 6-Jeff Buckley 7-Yes 8-Soundgarden 9-Dream Theater 10-Faith No More 11-Nirvana 12-Queen 13-Black Sabbath 14-Pink Floyd 15-The Smiths 16-Sonic Youth 17-Megadeth 18-Porcupine Tree 19-Eloy 20-Iron Maiden
Nothing stays forever on this type of lists, except the 3 first places (these 3 bands can switch positions between them from time to time, but it will be difficult for any other band to break into that top 3)

Hm. The top dozen are pretty fixed, after that it gets a little more ambiguous. Not in any particular order, and including non-prog: Shriekback Bowie King Crimson VdGG Genesis Jethro Tull Steeleye Span Porcupine Tree Brian Eno Robert Wyatt Japan Leo Kottke (earlier albums) Phil Manzanera/801 Max Webster ELP The Doors Gordon Lightfoot Stan Rogers Roy Harper Dire Straits Pink Floyd (okay that's 21, but I don't know who to bump..... )
