Speaking of Gentle Giant, there's one piece of music in Chrono Trigger that sounds *very* similar to "Talybont" from Free Hand, I think.

I noticed when I bought the Wii edition of `Tetris Party' that the majority of the selectable in-game soundtracks were all very proggy! Very pleasantly surprised!

I also was playing Ozric Tentacles `Waterfall Cities' at work a while back, and someone asked `Are you listening to video game music?' lol!

It's interesting to note that Koji Kondo (composer of a lot of the Mario and Zelda music) is actually a proggy and credits Genesis and ELP as influences.

Someone here pointed out before that Zelda's Lullyby sounds slightly similar to Hands of the Priestess Part 1 off of Voyage Of The Acolyte. It may just be a coincidence but the first few notes are quite uncanny.

That version of Red is hilarious, yet awesome. Somebody should produce King Crimson: the video game.

Myself, the only video game music I've ever really enjoyed is Sewart Copeland's soundtrack to the original Spyro the Dragon.

Oh man, these are great. It seems there's a Windows program you can make these in simply by dropping a midi file in. I know where to get a very good midi file of a Cardiacs song which would be perfect for this kind of treatment but I'm on a mac. Wah!

The Shadow Queen was a tough boss battle, indeed.  I actually had to grind two or three levels and stock up on a lot of items before I defeated her.  It was a bit of a shock how tough she was considering that the rest of the game was quite easy (by far the most well-balanced RPG I've ever played.)  Maybe my favorite Mario game; the storyline and atmosphere were surprisingly dark as far as the Mario games went, and it's just a blast to play from beginning to end.

I LOVED the original Paper Mario. A game I sailed through but still really enjoyed because it was just so lovely and fun. Haven't played the subsequent games but only because I never owned their systems. Will probably be emulating them before long.

It was.  The first RPG I ever beat (if not exactly played.)

^ One case where the remastered edition is very much worth it. Some speed changes were finally corrected, and such.
