As Jon Anderson said all faiths lead to the one god and so his Lyrics reflect a universal spirituality. Therefore if lyrics reflect universal truths like love thy neighbour and do not covet his arse... sorry ass.... maybe i should just stick with Donkey, so if lyrics suggest coveting someones donkey...no, no, i mean not coveting someones farm yard animals then it is not necessarily christian unless the singers themselves are of that faith and wish to reflect that in their lyrics. However singing about universal themes of brotherly love and Sisterly love for that matter and brother to sister love, but only in the non caligula sense,......you know what i mean......oh you and your double entendres it's making writing this too complicated.........Well if anyone sings about such love and goodwill then it does not preclude other non christian religions or atheists and agnostics either. So unless lyrics are specifically quoting from the bible or are sung by christians wishing to tell their audience about their christian beliefs then it is not christian prog. In my view it did not need a prophet to tell people that being bad brought bad karma and badness was only a short term solution. Being good just takes more time to reap the rewards. Now i think the ten commandments are pretty good ideas and i follow them as i only look at my own donkeys, pigs and sheep especially baaasil, and i still own both my hands but christians tell me even though i am essentially good i will not go to heaven because i do not believe in bible stories, in fact i am destined for hell, which on the whole is slightly disappointing even though And You and I and Awaken bring great Joy.

I am the son and heir of a shyness that is criminally vulgar. I am the son and heir of nothing in particular.

Like "heir today and gone tomorrow"?

Oh just having a lighthearted stir at religious nutters. Why are religous people so touchy about humour i wonder (even feeble humour such as mine) ? I remember the church banning the life of Brian and now they are trying to ban the da vinci code.In other words the church (and other religions) are scared sh*tless of people thinking for themselves. It seems they have not progressed much since they put Galileo under house arrest for saying the Earth went around the sun! And religion in rock? No blydi thanks!

Oh you are right sorry flowerchild i meant Tony R? No offence meant to either....Funny thing these message boards i love how people get wound up so easy due to a lack of body language and facial expressions. I am sitting here giggling whilst listening to the techno version of Owner on the Rhino remaster of 90521. So my mood is one of calm and slightly mischievous frivolity. So please take any comments i may make with a couple of large sacks of salt.... even that last comment in case it comes across as bitterness or anything. So right just to summarise i'm happy and you need to take two sacks of salt with anything i say. Better make that three if that didn't come across right as i'm starting to sound like i am taking the piss.In fact i am now throwing salt around everywhere as i am getting quite wound up by my attitude....i'd better leave it before i make things worse.

I quite like this acapella version of Leave It too.And i quite like the lack of religion in the lyrics too.Surprisingly i rate this album as one of Yes' lesser efforts but i find myself enjoying it over all the new stuff i have sampled on Prog Archives.
