i'm not yet a big fan of the man but some of his stuff is quite good. i have monsters and robots, and i like the odd sense of weirdness and uniqueness on eg jump man, but then i do not like the kinda music that is on newer albums (havent' heard many though) like decoding the tomb, jordan etc, that is more based on shredding. electric tears is also great. so please recommend me something i may like if you are familiar with the music.

the thread is also open for general discussion about the music of buckethead (death cuke k, praxis etc) but NOT for debating whether he should be included on PA or not.

Not heard all his albums yet but 'electric Tears,' Colma' and 'Population Override' are something pretty special. To be honest Buckethead is special and it wouldn't be a bad shout to say he's possibly the most gifted guitar player there ever will be. Speed wise there maybe 1 or 2 faster but not many with such accuracy and melody and his mellow blues has a Gilmour/Latimer quality at times.

BH could be one outstanding artist if he cut out the randon cr*p.

i like most of his stuff. i like how eclectic his discography is, though he does repeat himself once in a while. But i mean, cmon, he's been releasing 5 albums a year on average for the last few years, so i forgive him.

the only time i dont find myself enjoying his music is when he gets weird, and i like weird music but i think his strength is when he's being more melodic, soulful, metal, and intricate.

favorite albums are Slaughterhouse On The Prairie, Population Overdrive, and Colma

Try Diamond in the Rough, atmospheric rock at it's best. It's my favorite album by him (and I have all his solo works) Haunting and beautiful melodies throughout. Great stuff.

I like it when Herbie sings on Bucketheadland 2. Even though you know it's a p*ss take you still get drawn in to the pure heartfelt emotion. "They took my chickens away..

p.s. I still think Fanalo is Buckethead!
