Anyone heard these guys?  One of my favorite bands right now.  I'd definitely consider them prog-influenced though other labels may apply as well.  One of their members plays a theremin (really plays it, like, in tune).

They recently did a show at SXSW described as follows:

As you may have guessed from the title of this post, it's called HEXADECAGON. That's the geometrical term for a sixteen-sided object, and we chose it because the show we're working on is being written for an eight-channel sound and eight-channel video system: a sixteen-sided audiovisual panorama!

The eight speakers will be set up in a circle surrounding the audience, who will in turn be surrounding us (the band), set up in the middle of the whole shebang with eight images projected overhead. With this setup in mind, we can send all or part of the music spinning around in a circle or jumping from point to point across the space, or put completely different elements in each speaker, putting you and us in the middle of a crazy array of sounds. Add to that the video, which can run in tight synchronization with the sounds (following them around the circle) or behave completely differently, and the possibilities are endless! We're having a blast inventing these songs, building the electronics (the Bend Matrix) / programming the software we need to make this happen, and shooting the video (our pal Wiley Wiggins is running the video department - thanks, Wiley!).

Now that's what I call "progressive" in the most literal sense!

The first two tracks are basicly chill-out. I don't see much prog in them, but the 3rd track is excellent. It may fit in Post-rock. Let's see what the teams say. Do they have many tracks like the last one?

The second track sounds like Lymbyc Systym, a band we recently added to Post Rock. Is there anywhere where we could listen to a fair amount of samples? Apparently these guys don't have a MySpace.

I'm taking the suggestion to the team.

Edit: I've found the MySpace too.

They've been rejected by the Post Rock team. Good stuff though, their last album is very good.

It's an interesting band, and one I had heard before. I really like the theremin.  Though it's been rejected for Post Rock, might it be considerable elsewhere? Say Crossover?

I'm listening to "Hello Avalanche".  What about "Progressive electronic"?

^ Definitely not the same kind of electronic music our category is concerned with. About Crossover, I don't know either, they've rejected bands from this area that are more close to prog (like Minus The Bear or Fang Island).

Yeah they're kind of eclectic, wasn't sure if it would fit any of the official pigeon holes but a great band none the less.  I really like "The House of Apples and Eyeballs" which is a collaboration with Black Moth Super Rainbow (another ?prog? artist worth checking out).

This one in particular is quite lovely (nice theremin solo):

New album just came out if anyone's interested.  It's based on a show they've been doing with 8 channel surround sound (combined with 8 way video projections).  Hence the name...  My favorite is probably the one they don't have a preview for.  A bit Philip Glass-ish.
