I'm a big fan of really well written, complex drumming in my songs. Especially when the drumming seems to be the highlight of the music.

I listen to many of the more obvious creative, technically talented drummers that are popular on this site.

I would love to hear something that is centered around the skills of the drummer.

Thanks a lot PA, Thumbs Up

I'd appreciate it if you guys might give me a slight idea of what it is.

As for that song, it doesn't really sound proggy at all and the drumming isn't that impressive in the song that played.

Perhaps this is more to your taste: "Master Builder" by Going.

However, to say that "Halleluwah" by Can is not proggy and not to realize what great drumming that is...Confused

Is the "Halleluwah" really that great? I don't see it, in fact, it sounded a bit repetitive.

The song you listed was pretty cool on drums, but IDK, it's way too different from what I'm used to in the overall genre.

I would really appreciate a more approachable band, or a band that sounds a bit like the more popular bands on the site.

Would be a lot easier if you just mention those "obvious". Theres so many bands on PA, hard to guess if you like Genesis drumming, Tool Drumming, Marahvisnu Drumming, Mars Volta Drumming,
Bruford, Rush, Zappa, Tull, Miles ?
May be you love them all ? May be you thinking abouth other dummers.

Here is some other excellent drumming, but I fear one has to be a drummer (like me) to fully appreciate it:

And let's not forget Mani Neumeier, of course:

I discovered a drummer recently who amazes me a lot :

he is featured on Me'Shell Ndegeocello's last 2 albums

Another amazing drummer is Michael Bland.

You can hear him on these two albums :

"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)

No point in trying to find more excellent drumming because nothing will ever top this.

Anyway its patently not true.

Also I've never been a "jerk" to you...I've hardly ever directly commented to you.
