I fear for this album, but want it to be great.  I mean honestly, how many times has anyone re-played Insurgentes?  I for one won't be buying GFD on the strength of the predecessor. and while Heritage has some great moments there are far  too many that aren't.  I'd be amazed if they've saved their better material for a side-project but here's hoping. Maybe ithey've fooled us all and it'll turn out to be a mind-blowing metal-fest...

Not a name I would have chose, but not laughably bad.  That would be funny to see Portnoy's reaction if they changed their mind and added drums.

Yeah, like what's their name? they had one good 80's album and then replaced their singer with an AOR guy that sang them into commercial success. Now what's their name again, they sacked their drummer too now I believe, Dream Corrosion or something? Can't remember Big smile

Oh ho ho ho

And you know the funny thing, maybe Jonas might know a band that did just that. LOL . . . . . Stern Smile Thinking again, I'm sure he does. LOL

80's thrash metal is the BEST metal, period (maybe tied with 90's death metal).

In theory sounds good. I'll certainly be on the lookout for samples.

"The long awaited collaboration between Mikael Akerfeldt and Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) is finally being completed. The project goes under the name of 'Storm Corrosion' and will have a self-titled record out in April 2012 through a yet unnamed label. This album could be seen as the final part in the odd trilogy of records completed by "Heritage" and Steven Wilson's brand new solo album "Grace for Drowning". Read more on Steve Wilson's latest venture at gracefordrowning.com"

"because we get together once every three months. [Mikael] comes over to my studio and we work for a few days and we get really drunk on red wine, go buy and loads of records and then come back, and if we're lucky, do, like, ten minutes work"

This album will dominate.
