I love Collins era just as much as Gabriels. Collins is a phenomenal musician, has more prog influences than Tony Banks!
 
I even like a lot of his solo stuff too, especially the prog related face value

You are not the only one. I like all the Genesis eras by the same way and I prefer Collins over Gabriel as a singer. Both two are great, but Collins is better. (in fact he was better, at the present Collins voice really went down, and Gabriel's voice even continue in an acceptable level, unless in the live performances)

Agree about he is a phenomenal musician. Maybe you are right about that he has many prog influences. I don't know if more than Banks. His works with Brand X, his Jazz influences, and other things... But the true is that he not uses very much those prog influences in his solo career.
 
Is interesting what you say about "the prog related Face Value". Is a good thing to debate. I can't understand how people as Roger Hodgson or John Wetton are in Progarchives and not Phil Collins.
