"Awaken"! Got to hear them do that one on the Union tour in San Diego...in the round! | I'm jealous. I got to hear it a few years ago with Davison and Downes (still with Squire), and it was really disappointing. I guess the one time I would have loved to see it live is in the 90's 00's version of it (with the improved piano intro by Wakeman and the exteded keyboard middle too).

And so little love for "Ritual" is a bit shocking!!! | I don't really care for "That That is", apart from the beautiful intro. Perhaps I should give it another listen, though, since I remember just about nothing else from it. On the other hand, "Mind Drive" is (almost) really great for me. The only thing is that one is very mixed. The acoustic bits, and the XYZ reworkings are wonderful, but what I understand as the Jon Anderson additions really drag the song down... if those ones were edited out we would have ended with a 10 min song better than anything they have done since "Awaken".

I went with CTTE with And You and I & Heart of the Sunrise as runners up. Lots of good stuff to chose from!

The Revealing Science of God
Very closely followed by Awaken. Both tracks are sublime prog rock and capture all that was good about Yes in the 70's.
Endless Dream from Talk should also be on the list. Brilliant song.

Saw them perform 'Awaken' live (during the GFTO tour in 1977 in LA - some 20-30 minutes after they played the entire song CTTE). For me, 'Awaken' has always had that "complete" feeling about it. If there was only one song I could ever listen to in prog over and over again, it would be 'Awaken.' I would never tire of it...
