Actually I am going to put in a vote for MACHINE MESSIAH also - perhaps the last of the great Yes songs in their more difficult years with all the line up changes.

Roundabout - I can never get tired of that bass!!

The Remembering/ Revealing science of god - Unlikely maybe with Remembering, but it has it´s charm and the vocals are top notch, same goes for "Revealing" i really love the "We must have waited all our lifes" line!

Our Song- I have a thing for 80´s pop yes, and this song pack a punch! it has energy and it has a good synth (good job Tony!) 

Gates of Delirium- For me it is the epic of the epicest! seriously this song has it all.

Fly from Here Suite- yes i´m including the whole suite. I really fell in love with benoits lyrics and I think he´s great!

(I hate picking favorites, but I really love more than just these songs. They stand out the most for me)


5 Things that make Yes great or appeal to me

  • Their tenacity to survive through the decades and create many types of albums
  • Tales From Topographic Oceans
  • Rick Wakeman
  • Jon Anderson
  • The drive to make incredible song lengths and just completely change directions in spite of fans.

5 General Things about art rock/progressive stuff:

  • Ability to use a variety of instruments in complex manners
  • Long winded keyboard solos
  • Crazy time signatures
  • Zany, harmonic, angelic lead singers
  • Freakin' awesome album covers

Yes contribution has been far superseding to symphonic prog than most bands from that era, creating music of which can sound very tasteful while having the grit and edge of rock.
