Greetings. I just bought Salem Hill's "Not Everybody's Gold" - great stuff! I would love to know in what order I should get their albums (i.e. best to worst). Thanks. |

Be - their best, IMO
Robbery of Murder Catotonia the rest are slightly less great material (other than Puppet Show Live) and are OOP, although you can buy .FLAC files at Mindawn. |

Agreed, although Catatonia is OOP (out of print). The others can be bought through Prog Rock Records. |

Kirklott has excellent taste, my friends! Their latest album Mimi's Magic Moment is an absolute stunner with contributions from Kansas violinist David Ragsdale & Glass Hammer keyboardist Fred Schendel . MMM imo is their best so far, detailed lush production & far more melodic/symphonic than the raw, stripped-down, guitar-driven BE, which is of course a masterpiece but for different reasons. I rate this band very highly along with a few other up-and-coming US bands who are worth keeping an eye on such as IZZ & Little Atlas ... a mix of echolyn, beatles, spocks, yes .... but manage to transcend these. I guess they're a mix between *indie* and prog but not especially lightweight. And definitely NOT *neo*! Salem Hill really is worth your while checking out ... see the mindawn site for whole album demos & downloads www.mindawn.com also see Carl Groves' Solo album (listed under *Groves*). Its not especially proggy but really worth checking out if you love SH! Edited by felona |
