Since iI just recently suggested the Toshiyuki Miyama and His New Herd with Masahiko Satoh album Yamataifu for JRF, I thought I should suggest Masahiko Satoh's(or Sato) project Mashiko Satoh and the Sounbreakers' Amalgamation.  He has collaborated with Stomu Yamash'ta. Rate your music tags the album as
Free Jazz, Avant-Prog

I'd say it's part psyche, jazz, and quite an Avant Prog oriented album.... I'll have to listen to the whole albums again, as it's been awhile.. but it's quite eclectic. Hurrying now, but will edit in more info later.

We wish to express our gratitude for Greg to give a wonderful proposal again. You might know.

Masahiko Satoh is a person who exactly composes "Yamataihu".

And, there might be an important part as a music character when this proposal also talks about Jazz of Japan of the 70's.

Anyway, it might be good if there is progress for these significant proposals.

A belated arigato gozaimasu, Kazuhiro-san.

I've uploaded track two (had to split into two parts -- hopefully I didn't mess up too badly)

I would consider it first for Avant Prog, then JRF, and is considerable, I think, for Eclectic for its psych/ jazz/ avant-prog/ world attributes.

I hope more people check it out -- I think it's very good. I'm going to mention it to the Avant team for their input.

Thank you for the sample.

Hearing from Avant Team if their music characters are considered might be good.

I also am wishing this music to be installed finally.

Me too. I certainly think it fit for PA. I added it to progfreak yesterday to hopefully make things a little easier. If it doesn't work out with the Avant team, then I'll mention it to another team.

Haven't heard back from any avanteers yet, but I was wondering if any others could check this out and offer their opinions. Thinking this might now prove a more difficult one than I anticipated (not that I commonly go for the really easy ones). EDIT: Note that the first youtube track I embedded is not the whole track. Another EDIT: I'm going to take it to Krautrock now and see how that goes (I like the idea of it in Krautrock better than in Avant anyway now that I think about it). Otherwise JRF or Eclectic.

Oh, sorry Greg.
I've not found this thread until now ... Embarrassed

Now have hoisted my flag for evaluation.

Splendid stuff, like expected. Also, difficult to categorize, again like expected. Tongue Electric avant-jazz would be my description, but according to PA? I agree with avant as a first option and fusion as the second one.

Listened to their "Amalgamation".
Very dry, cynical, quirky soundkicks (and narration) all around. Sometimes sounds improvised-psych-blowin' like Ash Ra Tempel (so Kraut taste here and there indeed) ...
Finally I can feel they be much fit for Avantgarde on account of their soundscape and "politics". Tongue

I'm finally catching up to ZART suggestions from the past several weeks, and these guys were one of the first I've seen from after I went MIA to catch up on school stuff - listening now, I'd think they are fit for either Avant or Krautrock, and wherever they end up I like them.  Clap

I see they already have one Yes vote on the ZART chart over at PF, have you officially changed them over to a Krautrock suggestion for now or are they still in prog limbo?

They have two YES, and with yours one ,Jon, they are cleared for ZART If you voted YES ,for sure ...

Phillipe evaluated them for Kraut, you can read his opinion on kraut thread, and I agree with him there

Thanks, I'm happy it was accepted in Avant (which was my initial choice anyway).  I suggested it to Krautrock after some time as another possibility and to get another opinion on the music (by Philippe), and because I once offered a, I think, similar suggestion which was considered avant-garde but not avant-Prog, but he supports it in Avant.  Thanks for evaluating it -- I hope to get down to the addition soon.

Incidentally, if people like this, they should check out Toshiyuki Miyama and His New Herd: Masahiko Sato Yamataifu (Satoh, aka Sato, composed Yamataifu and is under JRF consideration). See http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=LoganPA1&aq=f for tracks.

Appreciate Greg, your great suggestion.
I've been much amazed at their terrific power. Shocked

Soon I'll post my review for their album in my blog. Thumbs Up
