The other day while clearing out the spare room I found a box of minidiscs. Fortunately I also found the Kenwood player to play them on.

Ah the nostalgia of it all, those were the days eh? No hiss, no skipping, no risk of damage to the playing surface...
What?

Mainly dust, which is predominately flakes of human skin cells. Which is why many audiophilists refer to the sound as being "organic" I would imagine. Geek

I like bashing two bricks together. Tongue Headbanger

Seriously, I do WMA for my portable copies.  Quit buying "vinyl" years ago.  Give me a good CD or DVD.  I just got the Genesis 70-75 box set.  They did it right. Big smile

Also Reel To Reel nor 8-Track tape were options....

Well in the 4yrs of this poll..my listening habits have gone to about 95% vinyl..balance between CD's and digital files.

I've put time and a budget into my analog rig, best thing I have done for my ears in the past 10yrs.

All that matters to me is that I hear it, at all. Because of this mp3 is the most important format to me. If not for mp3 torrentz (I'll learn to convert flac someday) my prog library would be starved instead of bloated. I'd prefer to have tons of prog on vinyl but, that said, I'd also prefer to be a member (instead of just a caddie), prefer to be driving a Bugatti Veyron, and prefer to be engaged to Emma Watson.

Time always wins.

Vinyl > CD > MiniDisc > FLAC > Ogg Vorbis > MP3

I have some vinyls/CD's that I recorded on MiniDisc and it sounds great

Vinyls. There's a reverence about the medium that really connects with me.

Aww yeah, bringing back four year old threads.
I'm surprised I couldn't find a more recent one. I thought every music forum needed at least six of these.

Vinyl +Free Digital Download > CDs > Vinyl > Digital > Reel to reel* > Cassette > 8-track* > Any other obscure formats

*Based on what I've heard about them, I haven't actually used them

^ I always enjoyed computer games too much to become a linux user at home. But at work and when it comes to internet servers, count me in!
