I am pleased to announce that High Voltage will be happening in 2011.
Tickets go on sale 7 December (UK Time).
No word yet on whom will be there.

Hello Everyone,
Here is some good news to blow away those winter blues…
Thanks for your patience and support over the months since High Voltage 2010, we hoped you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.
Many thanks for the overwhelming response to our customer survey, as we’ve said from the start High Voltage is a festival ‘Custom built by rock fans, for rock fans’, so we’ve listened and tried to take on board as many of your requests as possible.
We have brought the ticket price inline with other UK rock festivals
There is going be a big and never ending selection of real ales.
You loved the selection of food available – 2011 will have the same commitment to quality and choice.
Merchandise sales exceeded our expectations this year – in 2011 we will be prepared to meet demand on size and designs.
We will bring you another high quality line up of the best in rock and prog rock – all your artist suggestions are helping us build the line up you want to see.
These are just some of the changes we are making in preparation for High Voltage 2011, there are many more following your feedback that we will be working on.
Initial details will be revealed next Tuesday at 10.00am when our new website goes live and tickets go on sale.

Good news.
Just to clarify: When you say you've 'brought the ticket price inline with other UK rock festivals' does that mean it's significantly gone up??

I think what that means is that ticket prices would be the same as going to Glastonbury or whatever

Snow Dogs link says a weekend ticket is £99. I think that's cheaper than Glastonbury; proportionally of ocurse, as Glasto is three days. Anyway, Judas Priest and Dream Theater. That'a not a bad start

He doesn't say it. He is quoting from the site. This confused me at first. i thought he was the promoter when he said " I am pleased to announce"

We had a great day there at this year's festival. I'll wait for the full list before I decide whether to go again, and on which day. Let's hope they don't fart around with the split of the acts again.

Difference being you cannot camp at HV, so you have to factor in daily travelling costs

I shall be there again,providing the Prog stage is as good as last years, but I must admit I'm a little underwhelmed at the headliners. I wanted DT on the bill alright but I was hoping for something bigger...ah well

Neither of the headliners is that exciting for me. Here's hoping for Jethro Tull, Hawkwind, Deep Purple, Anathema, Touchstone, Alice Cooper, Blue Oyster Cult and Haken. Would be good to have UFO again so they could play without the technical problems they had this year.
The "I can dream" list: Arthur Brown and Kingdom Come, King Crimson (1969 version), Focus (with Akkerman and Van Leer), Sabbath (original line-up).

I'm going to wait for more bands to be announced. Not really a Priest fan and not enough of a DT fan to go for them alone. Let's hope for Tinyfish on the prog stage next year! I wouldn't mind seeing Black Country Communion either.

I'd say there's a really good chance of Tull being on the bill, they're playing in Germany the following weekend and thats the only gig they seem to be playing in the summer, so here's hoping

I would like to see Tull, Porcupine Tree, Tinyfish, some kind of Crimson manifestation would be good, maybe It Bites, Yes (preferably with Jon Anderson) I could list names all day. I think I'll stop there..

Dream Theater as a headliner is a bit disappointing but it should help boost numbers as they do have a great fanbase. 2010 was pretty special to me so I have big doubts as to whether I am that interested in coming to 2011. The prog stage may dictate that. IQ and Magenta would be nice. However the only band that would guarantee my attendance is Par Lindh Project. Don't hold out much hope for that even though they have just released a new album.

Perhaps if King Crimson wouldn't be up to it, it would be good enough if 21st Century Schizoid Band made an appearence (a band formed of former King Crimson members from the first 4 albums - I think both McDonnald and Mel Colins are part of it).
