Topic: I am the moment (Prog project) Posted: January 12 2011 at 09:34 |
Hello everyone,
I've been working on a solo project in home-studio. It's pretty varied so won't go into style description...
Just listen here : http://noomiz.com/fadisaliba and give me your input!
Thanks

Nice brooding intensity on the intro and clever use of wide dynamics when the singing starts. Spliced dialogue can be cliched but here it works and sets up the lovely eastern/arabic inflected instrumental section (stoner Dervish music?) The brass/trumpet texture is excellent and being a tad 'outside' harmonically speaking, gives the passage an avant feel. The sections after that drag a tad but are borderline metal in places. Lovely guttural 'lead' bass though. Really enjoyed the track but 'I am the Moment' is a w.a.n.k.y. name IMO
Call yourselves 'The Abdominal Snowmen' instead.....

Thanks for the comments!
I have to agree those sections right before the metal passages didn't
end up sounding exactly like I imagined them (I had a wider dynamic
range in mind...)
Concerning the name, it's the name of the EP. I'm just using my common name for the 'artist' entry.
I like the Abdominal Snowman idea, as I have long hair and often a thick
beard! (often compared to Sebastien Chabal, just the head not the
rest...).
Look at that snowman:

^ If that's you I'll give your CD a 5 star review if you promise not to hurt me BTW I hope you realise the name I suggested is a self depreciating play on words: NOT Abominable but Abdominal Bugger... there's some Canadian rapper (the worst kind surely?) called Abdominal

^Of course I saw the 'd' in abdominal, which makes the name so much funnier... I won't hurt you, and I don't think I can. I just have the beard and the hair, but the rest is like butter :)
