Don Kirshner died at 76 of heart failure.  Kirshner was, among many other things, Kansas' producer.

I'll always carry his voice in my head because of Blue Oyster Cult.

RIP

Hello....this is Don Kershner.....welcome to "Rock Concert".....with those words, many a new act was brought to my attention. I have an image stuck in my head of both the drummer for golden earring being hurtled out of his throne and over his kit to the front of the stage, as well as Nils Lofgren, when in Grin, flippin over backwards off a mini trampoline....both on Saturday nite on Rock Concert.....Great show....along w/ Midnite Special...

Rock Concert was great because it allowed bands to play multiple songs (more than two), like the midnight special.

Hopefully, if Rock Concert is released on video, they will release prog bands, where the midnight special dvds never have prog bands included
