Gnomonaut are an instrumental band from Atlanta, Ga.
New CD is streaming here: Not sure if this is the right spot. Is this appropriate? |

Sounds good! Some cool space influenced and prog fused music. I'd say it would fit into one of the art rock genres, most likely heavy.

Not sure what our next step is here, guys. If you think Gnomonaut should be included, how do we go about getting some reviews?

The Heavy Prog team is evaluating the suggestion, and if they vote yes than they'll add the band in the database. At that point reviewing will be possible.

Ok, cool. Who is on the heavy prog team, and do I need to contact them to make a submission? How will I know if they vote yes?

The music could also fall under Space Rock, so perhaps that team should have a listen as well?

Sure, Space Rock, Heavy Prog, perhaps some Psych or other classification I'm not thinking of. I don't really care what its labeled. I just want to be included on this great site and get some reviews from people who know about and understand this kind of music!

Looks like you guys have been cleared, or at least as far as I can see
In a short amount of time your band should be added

I will allow this addition due to our backlog though they only have 1 Yes vote -- would someone like to do the addition, Alex maybe?

spot-on, Assaf ... interesting production really. A groovy jamming approach, I smell some Allman Brothers Band influence, provided with more trickiness though. Several psych/space elements f.e. echoed guitars, spacey synths - they disappear over the course of time though.- and therefore I agree with Heavy Prog btw - band is listed with two guitarists on Facebook - who is responsible for the synth and brass contributions? Thanks guys!
Rivertree, to answer your question, all of our synth parts and samples are created by our drummer. He then uploads them to a sampler that he triggers for live shows. What little horns you hear were guest contributions by some friends of ours and are not really part of our regular live performance.

How's this? (from the website)
GNOMONAUT is an instrumental space-prog quartet based in Atlanta, Georgia that challenges the listener with memorable complex rhythms and driving grooves. Jeremy Adams and Patrick Marshall provide a double-helix of dueling guitars balanced by the bass power of Jeromy Dooyema. All of this is interlaced with synth colors and audio samples created by drummer Andy Snedden. Polyrhythms and complexity abound as the band takes you on a magical aural tour of the depths of space. Gnomonaut's 2011 debut release, "The Chronocosm", epitomizes what they do best. Based on a loose conceptual narrative about the titular astronaut gnome's adventures through space and time, the album showcases the band's influences of KING CRIMSON, BLACK SABBATH, OZRIC TENTACLES, MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA, HAWKWIND and CLUTCH among others. Gnomonaut is: Jeremy Adams - Guitar Patrick Marshall - Guitar Jeremy Dooyema - Bass Andy Snedden - Drums/synths/samples
