Aereogramme were a Scottish Alternative/Post-Rock band. Was thinking they could maybe fit into Crossover Prog or Post-Rock.

I'd recommend their album, Sleep and Release, and also their collab with Isis, In The Fishtank.

Thanks Henry.

Do they have a full metal album? The second sample makes them a potential candidate for Exp. Metal IMO.

They don't have a full metal album, as far as I know. Their albums are really varied with heavy stuff, and lighter stuff.

Here are some more samples I feel worth considering Smile (excuse the youtube quality):

Btw, Henry, nice sig. Wink

Perhaps. I'm not the best at defining genres, but I feel these guys have a place on this site.

Sorry for the necrothread, but were these guys ultimately rejected, or do topics often just get buried under the flood of suggestions? Shocked

If you wait for responses from the teams...You're going to be waiting a very long time. Nobody added them for consideration in another subgenre on Progfreak, so I have no idea what is going.

Excuse me if I seem ignorant, but even for Crossover Prog? Honestly, I find them far more progressive than Muse, The Cooper Temple Clause or Pure Reason Revolution, and all of these are included in the archives. Aereogramme just seems like an obvious addition.

I don't think it can only be said about a band that "it was rejected" when it was evaluated by a full panel of teams. LOL Evaluation from the relevant teams should suffice, and in this case the relevant teams rejected Aerogramme (post-rock) or are not at all keen on alternative rock (the current Crossover team). I can bet they weren't evaluated for Symphonic, but that wouldn't help...

It's a little weird that they didn't accept them into crossover.  I mean they have dredg in there and I feel like aerogramme represents their first few albums pretty well.

Don't see why they can't be included bands like Metallica and My Dying Bride are on here, Aereogramme were a very decent band and recorded some good material, it's all about someone's opinion at the end of the day, I mean if you read Classic Rock Prog magazine which i purchase regularly you see bands like Within Temptation, Katatonia, Leaves Eyes (just some bands I listen to) are featured in articles or cd reviews.
