Ommadawn;it is splendid,it is a masterpiece,in my opinion, from beggining to the end (even with On Horseback).Amarok it's special in its way,I would say quite unique for Mike Oldfield, very beautiful album.

But Ommadawn is better.

I like "Amarok" better. It's more complex and restless.

I consider Ommadawn as one of the best albums that have been issued ever !!!! Its atmospheres are truly wonderful. There's not one Oldfield album that come close to this. Like it is mentioned before Amarok was intended to be Ommadawn part two but I always wondered why. It is a very good album, no doubt that this is another one of Oldfields best albums but it's so different from Ommadawn. Being musically quite adventurous the moods are changing constantly and never get fully developped to my opnion. But I still like it a lot, it's just not on par to Ommadawn. So I'll stick with Ommadawn.

I prefer Ommadawn over Amarok.  Amarok is still good, in my opinion, but it's just not as good as Ommadawn.  It's still amazes me that one man can write something great like Ommadawn.  Mike Oldfield is a genius.

Yes, the beginning of Ommadawn, Pt. 2, may be slow and boring, but the song contains one of the most beautiful pieces Mike has ever written.

Here are my top 5 Mike Oldfield albums:

5. Amarok

4. Crises

3. Five Miles Out

2. Hergest Ridge

1. Ommadawn

Heh, I'm not really a fan of Tubular Bells.  Sorry, Mike.
