That's exactly where my 'meh' was coming from. This sounds like something from 88, but with images from old men in it.

I think he was referring more to the fact that the video was released almost 2 months ago. I would have complained about it myself, but I completely forgot there was a video, I only remember listening to the song. How bizarre. :O

The album cover clearly states that it's a King Crimson ProjeKct by a unit called Jakszyk, Fripp & Collins, not proper Crimso. As Fripp himself was quoted in the All About Jazz review, "it has the Crimson gene, but it's not quite KC."

Indeed, but it is beign sold as a Crimson album.Much like Anderson Bruford Wakeman and Howe were lumped in the Yes section....

What does the laziness of physical stores have to do with anything?

Even PA lumps it as a Crimson album, right there in their discography. As most sites will do,I guess.

Yeah, well that was probably a mistake.

Like someone says in that thread, the cover says "King Crimson project".All the projects are in the Crimson section,so why not this one too?
And an album that as Fripp,Levin,Colllins is likely to be labelled KC,imho.

Not my kind of music. It lacks punch in a way.
I'm so glad this is a project and not an official KC album. Power to Believe was amazing, such a fresh sound, that following it up with an album with this sound would be a shame.
Not risky at all. It could be a song sung by anyone and played by anyone. There's no KC music here, KC pushes the envelope, this is an average song with some cool parts delivered by the Collins/Fripp.

A few days ago, I saw on the Wikipedia page for the album that keyboardist Roddy Bottum (Faith No More) appears on the album, but it isn't there now so I assume that's not the case.  I don't even see what there is to gain by posting stuff like that on wikipedia assuming it's false. Confused

I have to be honest, the first thing that came to my mind when I heard this was "this sounds like a bad David Sanborn track".   In other words 'bubble gum jazz'.   Perhaps my impression of the song was unfairly colored by the unbelievably awful video.

Nonetheless, I've downloaded the album and will give it the old college try out of respect for Fripp and his legacy.  Who knows, perhaps I'll find something I like.  Maybe it's just this particular song that won't connect with me.

I just watched/listened to this video: it reminded some kind of 80's jazz/fusion, the kind I don't like. Well, I hope the whole album doesn't sound like this song, otherwise it would be rather boring, disappointing and a bit depressing (this song is sad).
