Topic: Scale the Summit vs. AAL vs. Canvas Solaris Posted: May 31 2011 at 03:25 |
I'm gonna say AAL by a hair since they have that djenty groove that the other two lack but STS and CS are still excellent bands. What do you think?

Never saw what the deal was with Canvas Solaris. Maybe I've just listened to the wrong stuff, I don't know. Animals as Leaders are pretty cool, haven't heard Scale the Summit though. I can't vote but it's an interesting poll

AaL not only has the chops to match anyone alive, but they make actual music. I recommended it to friends for workout music even though they don't know what the words "djent" or even "prog" mean, and they love it.
Canvas Solaris for certain, and StS to a lesser extent are for guitar nerds (yes like me). Very limited scope, and Tosin is actually better than either at their own game.
AaL by a mile.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I'm currently unsure for the time being. AAL's debut was impressive
while Scale The Summit made themselves worth my attention after
improving in their sophomore album. I've never heard of Canvas Solaris
before, but let us say that I "like them all equally".

1. Scale the Summit 2. Canvas Solaris 3 - 99. Anything else 100. Animals as Leaders
I really can't stand AAL. While I recognize that Tosin is an amazing guitarist, the music is usually to fast for me to appreciate although point to point is a lovely song.
