I´ve never understood of Post Rock (although I tried it). It´s depressive, melancholic, rather boring than interesting for me.

Depressive and melancholic music takes you to a realm of deeper consciousness if you are willing to let it.
Ok, that´s actually the problem. I´m not willing to let it.

I´m listening to music mostly in my car. Thus I don´t want to make sleepy (in principle: forever) myself.

Unlike other post rock, Godspeed You! Black Emperor is a cathartic experience and not depressing at all. Dark and pessimistic, but constructive and inspiring. Well, atleast to me it is.

Peter Hammill's Over, now that is depressive and melancholic (and wonderful)

I´ve listened properly your sample and must to admit that´s really depressive, destructive and not inspiring!

Incidentally, I own GY!BE discography on mp3, but only tucked somewhere in my drawer. Maybe if I´d want to committ suicide, I´ll pull out it again.Dead

Oh come on, that's comparable to committing suicide while listening to Tiny Tim. Tongue

Oh, but I noticed you rated Herbie Hancock's Crossings only **. No wonder we don't hear the same things.

That's pretty much how it worked for me too. That said now I know of MotorPsycho, I will go and check them out.

So, is Hancock perhaps an etalon for a righteous musical knowledge? About Jazz Rock, I rather prefer Colosseum, Cobham or Mahavishnu than him. Herbie is too experimental and "free" for me.

I just thought you should try more post rock to see if you like it, just a suggestion, you don't have to do it.

I have got a sufficient selection of so-called "Post Rock" to responsible assessment. Don´t care, please.

No, you rated one of my desert island discs a **, so I wrote that we have different preferences. Your jazz rock-preferences confirms that. Too free, too dark, too experimental, too depressive..., I don't have those issues.

And I don't know how you managed to twist no wonder we don't hear the same things... into... etalon for a righteous musical knowledge
