Hm. I'm not quite sure about this one. I can hear avant tendencies, but it's shrouded in punkier tendencies.

What is with this site and punk? I do not really get how the punk tendencies of some bands get in the way of them being considered.

The Cardiacs have punk tendencies yet they had an album in the top prog albums list and there albums are pretty highly rated.

I also have to say that Prog is still going strong. It has just accumalted a vast number of styles and sounds, and I think it will keep expanding and evolving, with gwetting more styles and whatnot, and punk even though it is the exact opposite in almost every way, it can be fused with Prog.

I'm not saying that Punk killed Prog permanently, but the slouch that was the 80s was kicked off with the Punk invasion. When many of the prog bands we love (Yes, Genesis, etc) were at their peak, punk came along and stole the spotlight.
Punk isn't bad, it's just not prog. Yes, Cardiacs have punk elements, but their sound is far more diverse than punk. This band, however, has diverse elements with a much heavier emphasis on punk.

Well, I kinda figured this was not going to get far (see beginning post) because of its punk-y-ness but I still think it is worth evaluating. Tongue
