In your opinion.
Not only in my opinion, but according to majority of PA reviewers. However, it´s still a good album, unlike Abacab.

But the PA community says that Abacab is good (even when not essential) : you just pasted the proof yourself Wink

Beat is far more interesting in my opinion, but neither of the two albums are particularly wonderful.

Though it isn't my absolutely favorite the 80's King Crimson has so much going on, gotta love it.  Definitely that, I hate pop music and I never liked any Genesis.
Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?
I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance.

Didn't even vote, Slart.' What a couple of albums that have no business being compared to each other. The deal here is that Discipline is this cold-hearted affair that showcases two outstanding guitar players and their ability to weave intricate fret work into rhythms of who knows what. Saw the show backing this album, and thank God for the oldies. Abacab, on the other hand, at least offered melodies and more variety in the music department. It's not perfect, it's a little poppy, but otherwise puts a good face forward for the band after the awkward, bombastic Puke.

Oops! Saw that you were comparing Abacab to Beat. Silly me. I'll still take the former. Not a big fan of Belew's voice.

Fine fine fine don't vote.  Beat is beating Abacab.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
