Hey, I'm new here, sorry if these guys have been suggested before... influential late 70s New York post-punk band, I'd suggest them as Prog-Related.

Welcome to PA gumby! I did a quick search and couldn't find any previous thread on this band. However, only Special Collaborators can suggest bands for Prog Related. But if this band is well-known as I suppose maybe one will pick up one the suggestion and move it further.

Having only listened to their first album and to the live album The Blow Up, I'm not sure we can describe them as "prog-related" even if their song "Marquee Moon" was 10 minutes long. Most of their songs seem to be written in the AABA form, but it's been a long time since I last listened to them.

Since when? As for Television, they're almost as prog-related as Patti Smith.

it's time to create a post-punk subgenre...(similarly to post-rock and post-metal)

I don't know which relationship they can have with prog, but I like them as well as Tom Verlaine and Patti Smith. Well, at least Patti Smith is related to BoC that are Prog-related....

They're great, but I hear no relation to prog in their output.
