Yes!!!! I´ve never been to one of these, but I´d love to go. Gösta Berlings Saga sounds like a band who´d sound brilliant live!

- Oh almost forgot - Another?

I'm going to see my first Gösta Berlings Saga gig this Saturday here in Stockholm, so I'm hyped to say the least!

As for your question; there was an Uppsala Prog festival two weeks ago (August 13th) with bands like Nevärlläjf, Beardfish and Brighteye Brison among the highlights.
Last Saturday we had the annual Slottskogen Goes Progressive Festival in Gothenburg with bands like Andromeda, Agents Of Mercy and Nevärlläjf (because I can't get enough of this band!) among the highlights.

It's safe to say that Prog is very much alive here in Sweden!

I guess Denmark is sleeping in class when it comes down to prog gigs. Oh well ever since Øresundsbroen was built, it isn´t that big a stretch to visit the land of Pippi and Björn Afzelius...

Fy fann det kommar at bli bra!!!

Ok jeg skal nok stoppe med at voldtage det svenske sprogLOL

I´m definitely putting this date in my calendar - should be fun to see Roine live as well, although I´ve never been his greatest fan.

I'd have to disagree with that statement considering that you have a cool festival called Denmark Rock, featuring acts like Andromeda (SWE) and Leprous (NO)!

^Takes place at The RockLOL Back when it was called Tex - I used to get wasted there and sing along to Cowboys from Hell and Sweet Child o´ mine... Wouldn´t have thought such an arrangement would unfold there - too many girls in emo war paint and classic metal heads.

Thanks for the heads upSmile

Hi mina,

Great to see that you're still active on the PA forum!
Since we last spoke, I've moved to my new apartment and have been living there for almost 1,5 years. You are welcome to stay here next time you visit Stockholm!

I was wearing my classic long sleeves PA t-shirt at the show so if one of those tall people fits the bill, you have my permission to hit that person on the back next time you see him!

Moving the show to the day before my birthday is very flattering but that means that I won't be able to have my party on Saturday. Unhappy

That is, unless I can celebrate at the Prog Fest! LOL

Thanxxx for spreading the news about Sweden Prog Fest and helping us with our MISSION!  :)

Ever since the late 60´s Sweden has produced progressive rock bands in a never ending
stream of beautiful and powerful music, but does the world know about this?

The answer is yes AND no!

Some of the bands has reached iconic status but there are so many more, and it is about
time to show them to the world!   :)

Next year a box containing some 35-40 CD´s with 100% Swedish prog will be released and
we think the timing for this is excellent.

Sweden Prog Fest will be held once or twice a year.

Our premiere is on november 26 and will (as you know) showcase 5 Swedish acts but bands
from all over the world will be welcome to play on future Prog Fest´s but the site will be dedicated
to swedish bands.

Sweden Prog Fest
A manifestation for progressive rock from all over the world

The site www.swedenprog.se
A home for swedish progressive rock bands

See you at Sweden Prog Fest on november 26
Brygghuset, Odenplan Stockholm, Sweden (www.bryggarsalen.se)

Cheers,
Sweden Prog

It's a pity that the show will collide with the Clutch-gig but I guess five live acts is better than one! Thumbs Up

PS
I just updated the festival info on Last.fm.
