Shame that Halowed Be Thy Name isn't an ELP song. We should stop at solo projects I feel.

It is on Greg Lake's solo side, as you know.

In your heart of hearts, do you really consider it a proper ELP song? Smile

I know I don't..and never can.

I don't think he does, but I will definitely check. And even if he does Mike Rutherford plays on Voyage of the Acolyte.

BUT....I suppose thechnically, as you say....it was released under the ELP banner. It is just my finnicky ways. I would never include it is all.

Plus..aren't the sides named? Like Side 1 Keith Emerson......Side 2 Greg Lake etc?

Endless Enigma
Baba Yaga/Great Gates of Kiev
Take a Pebble
Trilogy
Hoedown

If Pictures at an Exhibition can be counted as one long track then that is Number 1.

I wouldn't, but as I say, I'm fusy about these things.

Although the 5.1 version is presented as one piece. It's shorter though.

Plus having a big piccy of each of the lads ALONE adorning the sleeve artwork? OK it's a fair cop police sniffer dog and I will ban anyone permanently who dares list this song as one of their choices forthwith
You're certainly none too fus(s)y about spelling are you?Big smile

That's the spirit!Cool

Edit

Ok. Halowed Be Thy name was originally proposed for Brain Salad Surgery. Emerson does indeed play on it and from what I can divine, so does Palmer.

So it turns out to be more of an ELP song than I imagined.

^ I never knew that about Hallowed By Thy Name. Very interesing.

Ironically its more an ELP song than 'Gone Too Soon' which had a session drummer and keyboard player.(but I guess we don't really want to go there?!)

  2. Tarkus
