I only like English Electric, though I do like it A LOT, it doesn't compare what The Flower Kings have done

Big Big Train doesn't even come close to anything The Flower Kings have done.

I really like Big Big Train and they'd probably get my vote against most bands.
However they have absolutely no chance against The Flower Kings.

Very much this. BBT is OK, while TFK I hate with the fiery fires of hell.

I'll take the Train. I stopped at one FK (Stardust We Are, an OK album, we didn't click), but when I got The Underfall Yard, I got every album of theirs I could in short order. Most what gets me into a particular band is gut feeling and good timing. The Kings may just have had bad timing.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I vote Big Big Train.
TFK is one of the few Swedish prog bands I don't like.

The longer a poll is active, more votes can be cast, so it becomes more "scientific," as well.

Perhaps I could have closed the first series of polls of this round a little earlier. The ones Riverside and Porcupine Tree stole.
On the other hand, you can't say the other 2 were prolonged. When I close them, they were still on fire. 11 pages of debate on 3 days on the Spock's Beard-GY!BE poll. Try to beat that.

To clear things up (or not), I don't have the slightest idea when this tournament is going to end. Frankly I don't care. Until now, each poll has been about 3 days of duration. You can do the math if you desperately need an answer. But perhaps in the future I will extend the duration for the last rounds. Or shorten them, if I get tired of this, who knows?.

But I asked to Morningrise previously. |
No no no, silly person, you posted it on the Internet which invites comment from a series of ninnys, myself included. I think what you're confusing this with is a private message which is where you would have only asked Morningrise.
