Yeah, especially Dancing Days and D'yer Mak'er. No Quarter is pretty much the only relationship it has to prog. I think PG has a more progressive overall atmosphere. |

I can't deny the obvious folk characteristics, but I don't find any of the songs on that album (neither the folk ones nor the blues rock ones) even remotely proggish. Please enlighten me. |

In all their albums(except for zep2-quintessential blues-hard rock) you can hear LZ reaching into the realms of progressive rock with in one or two tracks; but to name an album, I would say it's between: "Presence" and/or "Houses of the Holy", leaning towards "Presence"! |

I believe the Zep community consider "Friends" and "Hat s off to Roy Harper" proggy more that anything else...due to the folk, indian, orchestral, and psychodelic overtones. To classify them as "folk" or "ballads" just would not be accurate.

Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, and LZ IV all have their share of proggy songs. Also, Presence has Achilles Last Stand.

3 was incredibly daring, and a prog folk album if ever I heard one. Proggiest? Probably the sprawling Physical Graffiti.

Great thread. Tried not to be swayed by othe rposts, but have to agree that III & Presence sound the "most Prog" to me. Prog Folk and Prog Rock respectively. III is a fave too. They really broke the "UK Blooze Rock" band mold with that one.
