Topic: Mikael Åkerfeldt vs. Toby Driver Posted: October 11 2011 at 23:58 |
Vocally, Akerfeldt. But Driver is one of the most brilliant minds in music today, so I can't not choose him.

Akerfeldt is amazing,a superb musician and songwriter.
But c'mon...........Toby Driver is a visionary,an avant genius.

I love them both for completely different reasons, but when it comes down to it, Mikael is more talented a musician, more creative and just writes better lyrics and melodies (save the horrid lyrics in Heritage of course).

I love Akerfeldt and Opeth but Toby Driver is on another level. Everything he touches is amazing.

Wow really surprised that Toby is winning this. Pleasantly surprised.
Heritage obviously isn't going down too well.

On any given day it could be Choirs of the Eye or PoS's The Perfect Element, depends on which one I listened to last.

Love both but my vote goes for Mikael, simply because he's produced more I enjoy.
No knock on Tobeh Drivah of course, especially with Bath and PtS being 2 absolutely superb albums, and his compositions are obviously more avant garde

Out of all of the music by either artist, I only like Kayo Dot, so I have to vote Driver.
