Mikael Akerfeldt for fans of Opeth who don't like his growls (and generally the growls): If they don't like it then they are pussies.

10,000 days or blood mountain. Went with 10,000 days because of Rossetta Stoned, Jambi and the title track.

Agalloch from these. 2006 is one of my favourite years of the decade, and I am suprised how little of my favourites appear in this list. :(

Probably a three way tie for me of the ones I have. Dark Third, Orchids, and Stati.

After being turned on to it be one of PA's members, Non Credo's Impropera became my favourite.

Though it pains me not to vote for "Milliontown" I have to vote for "Paradox Hotel" by The Flower Kings, it's my favorite CD by them.
Special mention goes to "The Dark Third" and "Christ-0".
(2006 was a great year of music for me)

I don't have an unnatural obsession with Disney Princesses, I have a five year old daughter and coping mechanisms.

A good year but "A Dark Third" is/was my favorite of the year ... from this list. Where's Negura Bunget's "Om" and my second favorite of 2006, Kotebel's "Omphalos"?

Nothing here I'm really wild about, but I gave it to Milliontown.

Frost... because it was an out of nowhere and startlingly good debut.
