Saint Deamon - "Deamons"

Saint Deamon - "Oceans of Glory"

The entire Roswell Six album "Terra Incognita", which follows the story of Kevin J. Anderson's novel of the same name. The second album, A Line in the Sand, which follows Anderson's second novel, also of the same name, isn't quite as good as the first IMO.
Album preview:

Nightwish = "The Islander"

Nevermore - "I, Voyager"

Narnia - "Sail Around the World"

Haken - Pretty much their entire "Aquarius" has to deal with the ocean.

"The Wide Open Sea" by Big Big Train.  If memory serves it even has an accordion solo - you don't get any saltier than that"

also, anything by storm weather shanty choir (not prog but acapella , but all real historical sailing chants)

If I'm feeling like shanties, I listen to one of THREE alestorm albums. Every single song is about being a pirate. It's not good music but I really enjoy it because of how ridiculously silly it is. Ha

Try listening to Cargo S/T, they were a Dutch Heavy Prog band from the early 70's who only released on album.
You can find them on the PA, enjoy!

Beardfish - Green Waves Headbanger

Gnidrolog - Ship

Also, in Beardfish's mega-epic Sleeping In Traffic has a part which the main character meets the Capt. Flurry and his henchmen Tongue, with pirate chants, seagulls et al.

I guess "Orange Claw Hammer" by Captain Beefheart. Kind of helps that part of the melody of the song (actually it's a one man accapella) quotes the theme from Gilligan's Island.

Ooh! Good one, I'm not the only one that loves Tempest, then Smile

Tempest did two other pirate songs, Captain Morgan and Captain Ward. The Double Cross is about Captain Kidd, so it's a pirate Captain's trilogy!

Couldn't find the original Rocket Scientists' version of the song and this is a bit abridged, but:

Then there's Hostsonaten:

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

The weather's on the change
Lines join in faint discord
As the stormwatch brews
A concert of kings
As the white sea snaps
At the heel of a soft prayer...
Whispered.

Some favorite Fairport:

Prog folk punk?

...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

This is a little depressing, but I always hear this song in my head whenever I think of my close friend slipping on ice and off the deck falling into the Atlantic ocean during the midwinter to die.
