Blade Runner and 2001 are tied in the voting - both masterpieces

Always had a soft spot for 12 Monkeys
Voted Blade Runner. Simply iconic.
Pan's Labryinth makes me want to rip my own skin off my skull. And maybe someone else's at the same time. So friggin' brutal. Without compromise. I suppose I appreciated it but I never want to see it again.
Empire Strikes Back is by far the best Star Wars movie and the best of my childhood.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Tired of voting for Kubrick flicks, I chose Guilliermo's Labyrinth. What a masterpiece! I really love the way the two different worlds coalesce, even if one is rooted in the fantastic and the other in real life fascist Spain.
Had The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus been up for grabs, I would have voted for it in a jiffy. An overlooked diamond in the rough from Monsieur Gilliam methinks.

Blade Runner.
IMO the best film ever made, regardless of genre. |

I love science-fiction movies, but don't like space operas. Cowboys and Indians in space suits.
As far as list goes, I prefer Blade Runner. The worst SF list would be much more interesting. |

LOTR just over 2001. So many classics here. Blade Runner is great, as well, and who doesn't love Star Wars.

I can't imagine anything better than the dark, atmospheric, and somewhat melancholic 1982 classic about a guy wasting time by killing replicants.

Bladerunner over Jurassic Park I guess. Very close. Vangelis makes it hard not to pick Bladerunner. Never made it through 2001, though it seems impressive so far.

I love 2001 because it is iconic in every scene but it is a difficult movie to watch. Thats why I love it as it challenges the perception. It is a movie to be watched for the sake of watching. it hypnotises you with its slow pace and lack of sound. It has huge slabs of silence and no dialogue for massive parts of movie.

Clicked on 2001, in the end. Blade Runner's a better movie for action and Pan's Labyrinth is a real work of genius but 2001 treats you properly... all art, no patronization.
honestly I think about half of these films primarily as action movies or generic blockbusters. x3 |
