I'm not sure where I'd categorize this, but I learn mostly towards post rock, albeit with much more influence on the rock aspect than many other bands in the genre.
The songs are generally fairly long, and feature the crescendos of post rock, but I also hear a significant influence from more alternative rock sources, which makes for a pretty unique sound, in my opinion. They've released two albums and an e.p., I believe, all of which can be found at their bandcamp page. http://www.balticsea.bandcamp.com I just found this band today, as they're opening a show I'm seeing in a couple weeks, and I think they'd make an excellent fit somewhere on our site, and they're also extremely worth checking out. |

Good find; I'll agree Post Rock is the place to start. I'm notifying the team.

Any word from the team/opinions? I went and hunted down links for some more music, and reviews, and general information: http://www.ericrock.com/bands.php?id=thebalticsea http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Baltic-Sea/80706182436?sk=info http://dispatchmag.com/the-baltic-sea-period-piece-review-2/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkyOHRLnPW0 I realized there was a band of the same name from Spain, and felt compelled to find some more specific information. |

One 'yes' vote from Alex so far - three more team members are still to vote. It's early days yet, they were only added to the chart three days ago but things are in hand. For further updates you can periodically check here: http://progfreak.com/The-Baltic-Sea-151236.html?path=pa/recent
