Neither makes any sense, at all, to me.  Didn't her "music" career end more than 10 years ago?  Didn't she just perform insipid pop songs over pre-recorded music?  I lean towards saying the HoF makes less sense because Super Bowl halltime shows used to have pop stars but then, those were current stars, and if Michael Jackson got in the Rock HoF then what pop singers can't?  Confused

I'm going with the first one.  Aww crap I meant the second one.

I think the basic flaw in your thought process was expecting Madonna to make sense. Wink

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

The RRHF doesn't make any sense anyway. It's like rolling stone magazine but with awards. It's so far from being "rock" that soon they will induct Celine Dion...

Regarding Madonna and the Super Bowl, I think the half time show is always so horrendous that we can't expect much else...

I don't care about what the americans call "football" (they call the true footbal "soccer"Ermm). So, i vote in the first option (very disgusting, Madonna in the RRHF?)

Obviously the first, every HT show sucks and I do something else but inducted as a Rock HOFer?????
Then again, I do remember seeing other pop artists there (I think) so it's not a surprise really.

To quote the Sex Pistols when they were inducted into the R&R HOF, it's a "piss stain"

Went with the second option, because the RR HOF is an irrelevant yet known quantity.  A garbage result from them is to be expected.

I'm waiting for when Madonna and Celine Dion (backed by the then-still living members of Metallica of course, accompanied with a live video feed of Alice Cooper at a Japanese retirement party) induct Coldplay, Maroon 5, and Justin Bieber into the hall of fame, simultaneously.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is the worst thing ever to happen to music.

The first. To me it is still baffling how people don't understand the concept of 'rock. But the Hall of fame is pretty sh*t anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. Still doesn't make sense.

The second is no big surprise to me. They've had pop stars before.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me

Nope, football is what we play in Australia - soccer is the game the rest of the world play because their too scared to play a proper contact sport....

and Madonna? really? who cares...

Tom Petty played the Superbowl. You can't tell me he has more talent than Madonna.

Madonna was only briefly passable for attractive somewhere around "Ray of Light". Until she opened her gap-toothed mouth. Just saying.

Don't you mean the Grammys?

Justin Timberlake inducting Madonna into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame surely is more bizarre than a famous but irrelevant singer promoting her new album at the Superbowl.

And come on stone
Who cares if it's all plastic surgery, I agree with Pat. I originally had a joke here about her daughter there but then I discovered she is 14! It's gonna be hard time for me some day (mom I can see your ass)
