I think they might eventually get included in but the lack of a bio is a problem , I myself couldn't find anything more. On the new gibraltar encyclopedia it just says "Symphonic prog rarities" ; maybe when more info comes up. Oh and happy new year everybody!

Interesting band, just enough fusion to make the jazz rock section on the jazz site.

Something from a review cause info is rare: October are a Detroit, Michigan area based progressive band. Their sound
is a unique combination of symphonic prog rock with a pronounced fusion
flair, probably due to the abundance of electric violin. The vocals
have that late 1970s "private press voice" that is found on many albums
from America during this time.
From a back cover: Mark Krench(p,el-p,syn,rcdr) Mark Sterling(syn, org,g) Brad Tolinski(vln,g) Jeff Rozany(b,vo) Pat Carson(ds,per) Two albums, "October" in 1979, and "After The Fall" is somewhere listed as 1979 and somewhere 1980 so I'm not sure. Good news is that there are CD issues of "After The Fall" on German Lion Records label. Original vinyls were on Charisma Sounds Records. Track Listing: "October" 1.Corean Holiday 2.Aquarium Ballroom 3.Ghosts 4.Nero 5.Beyond The Treeline 6.Mainspring 7.Egyptian Lullaby Track Listing:"After The Fall" 1. Intro 3:10, 2. October Suite 4:59, 3. Earth 5:34, 4. Through The Light Of Reason 4:40, 5. Shining 3:36, 6. Charisma 12:25. Here are some samples from the first album and one from the second at the end. |
