Band from Florida active in 70's and early 80's. Three albums, "Flight" 1975, "Incredible Journey" 1976 and "Excursion Beyond" 1980. These are members, exact album line-ups can be found on discogs: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Flight+%283%29
Pat Vidas (brass, lead vocals), Ted Karczewski (electric guitar, acoustic guitar), John Ray (acoustic guitar, bass), Russell A Dawber Jr (drums, percussion), Jim Michael "Fizzwah" Yaeger (keyboards), John DeNicola (bass), Steve Shebar (drums). I couldn't find samples from the first album even though I find reviews telling it is the best one. Only on the third album does the band go in a different style. Third album is more in this tone. Track listings: "Flight" 1975 1.In Flight (4:48) 2.Make A Miracle (3:45) 3.Let's Fly Away (3:53) 4.Latin Dippy Doo (9:20) 5.Rhapsody to You (7:50) 6.Falling in Love (3:38) 7.Ease of Confusion (3:08) 8.Theme to the Stratosphere (9:01) "Incredible Journey" 1976 1. Music is (6:49) 2. 1929 (5:38) 3. First impression (3:39) 4. Mystery man (3:21) 5. 2003 (5:42) 6. Visions of a dream (3:41) 7. The sands of time (4:20) 8. Rock'n'roll star (3:51) "Excursion Beyond" 1980 1.Excursions Beyond (4:28) 2.Music Razzmatazz (2:55) 3.A Thing For Julie (3:25) 4.Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) (3:11) 5.The Rumble (4:48) 6.Face To Face (3:55) 7.Jett Lagg (3:15) 8.Inca Innuendo (4:05) |

Flight perfectly fits in PA!
They are wonderful mix the ELP, Chase and perhaps a little RTF. This band maybe JR/F or Eclectic. I don't understand, why don't put in PA??? |

They've been rejected, I'm afraid.
I'll give them another go in By crossover I mean eclectic. My bad.

I have been searching the internet for some time...trying to find someone who knew of this band. I was introduced to them by a friend of mine who lived on Long Island, NY. This was back in 1975. My friend, Vinny had a cousin who was in the band. I went to see them perform at a club in Los Angeles...and wrote a review for the UC Irvine (Irvine, CA) student newspaper. Thank you for re-uniting me with their music. Where can I get copies of their music?

I think this band is probably cleared in Eclectic, but it needs checking with them to be sure. The most recent chart (June 12, 2013) has two 'yes' votes plus a 'move' to JR/F (where the band was already rejected once), but three of the members shown in the chart don't appear to be active anymore, and a fourth much newer member (thellama73, who isn't include in the chart) has also voted 'yes'. Seems as though the general consensus is 'yes' (3 out of 4 active members), unless a unanimous decision is required following a rejection in another sub (I thought this rule only applied to a re-evaluation by a team that originally rejected the artist concerned though).

I believe that Logan is thellama73 (might be wrong, but I don't think so) therefore 2 yes and 1 move votes. Moris would either need to change his vote to a yes or another active member of the team (it is my understanding that ProgressiveAttic is on sabbatical but will return). Might have to wait a bit longer, but I'll check to see if Moris would reconsider given that they have already been rejected by JR/F.

Yeah - he has to be, doesn't he. I was getting confused with the team member with the username Logan..but he quit the Eclectic team way back in September 2010, and his real name (as used in the charts) was Greg. Moris has agreed to change his vote, so it looks like the green light for Flight.

I grew up with Pat Vidas in Centerville, Iowa. I have all three Lps remastered on CD-R! I love his first two for sure. I've been lobbying to get them on here. They do jazz , prog, fusion and Latin tinged music excellently! Their second lp was engineered by Bob Clearmountain. I would love to swap with anybody. If I can figure out how to upload an 80 minute CD-R of their first two Lps minus I love song on youtube, I would do it. Maybe somebody could give me some help.
