Only Because of You is about the only genuine solo classic I have heard from him.

In Lazland, life is transient. Prog is permanent.

Only Because of You. I love the melancholy feel, the guitar solo and and the mournful female vocals. A great tribute to John Lennon.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Only Because of You (although I committed as streams Had A Dream and Death and the Zoo, because Only Because of You is in atmosphere quite similar to Death and the Zoo.)
Meet me in Second Life under the name Exiles Lavender. I am a DJ there at two prog rock clubs.

I voted for 'Only Because...', but my fave Hodgson-penned epic is 'Give Me Love, Give Me Life'. It would have made a great Supertramp epic, even a big Yes or Kansas epic. Consistent melodic drive, well-ordained morif developments and shifts, and a powerful rhythmic architecture.
