Topic: Favorite King Crimson Line Up Posted: March 30 2013 at 17:20 |
For me it's definitely Fripp/Wetton/Bruford/Cross. Not so much for the studio albums...I do love Starless & Bible Black but prefer the live versions of the songs on Lark's Tongues. Anyway, when Fripp released the 4 CD Great Deceiver set, I was in heaven (or was it hell?

Perhaps Robert Fripp and Kim Simmonds could get together; if they pooled all members of both bands they could start a new Town

ItCoTCK, ItWoP, Lizard, Islands, Red, Discipline, Three of a Perfect Pair, and Vrooom are all 5 stars imo. Larks, SaBB, and Beat are all 4.5s. And Thrak is 4 stars.

I love pretty much every line-up, but there is something so very special about the Fripp, Bruford, Wetton, Cross & Muir line-up.

[QUOTE=dr prog]Lake, Giles, Mcdonald, Sinfield, Fripp
The band were at their melodic best. They had a good mix of jazz and classical in their rock music. Strong compositions. A good mix of keys too.
Absolutely agree with this post.

^ I just burst with laughter - now it's 4.5. Some hard-on 4.5's and 5's on your album reviews and ratings chart. Looks like you'll have some rewriting to do since in your Islands review it still says 3/5 in text.

I like how you originally gave Islands like 2* then i think you gave it 3* after a second listen.
