Just listened to Fracture and decided to make the poll. Normally, I'd say Starless, but with Fracture and its dramatic close still fresh in my mind, I can't really decide! I'll vote later...

Fracture certainly displays some of Fripp's best chops and the use of crescendos in the song is fantastic. Starless on the other hand may possibly be the best Crimso song of all time, in my opinion. Starless is just unbeatable so I'm going to vote for that.

Fracture is a very powerful song, but Starless... ah, Starless... is simply the best song of King Crimson of ever and one of the best of progressive rock!

Starless easily for me. Fracture is great, but has something that just doesn't click, and then I can see no flaw in it... it would seem like a very well calculated song. Starless is just wonderful, though I prefer it live with violin.

Hard one, but I have to say "Fracture", as it's possibly my all time favorite song!

But I do love to listen to "Starless" at Christmas time with just the tree lights on.  Try it some time!  Smile

Starless for certain.

Starless. As mentioned above, it is absolutely King Crimson's best song and definitely in top3 of all time prog songs. And very emotional song ...

Fracture definitely has a dramatic finish...

...but Starless has an even more dramatic finish, both to the song itself and to the band at the time...

A polarising poll like this makes Fracture look weak, just because Starless is better. They both wipe the floor with....... well, most music.

Well, the lyrics are all but Christmas-like... unless you like to spend your Christmas with a Black Bible.

Fracture.

In my view Starless is Fripp in a rare moment looking to the past instead of forward, and returning to the formula of the debut album. Well it's still a good song but Fracture is the essence of Krim.
