Topic: Les Champignons.. up for grab by genre teams Posted: December 24 2011 at 14:02 |
OK, let's try it this way: Since sending bands from one genre team to another, let's open up the debate for everyone.... So let each team listen to the samples and fight it out this way , instead of trying to send theur rejects to another team... First up is Les Champignons, a Quebecois band from just before the magic 74-79 era.... These guys are undeniably prog, but not really prog folk, or else I'd have included them years ago... I known Eetu did like them back then, (I think of them as psych enough to fit the band in their genre), but it's been at least four years since they were proposed, so if heavy, eclectic or even Xover wants them...

They've been suggested before, they were halted in Psych last year for being unsigned. I'll bump the suggestion.

After three attempts I'm going to declare your experiment to be a failure Hugues since Andy of the New Suggestions team has been the 1st (and sometimes only) person to respond to your suggestions it is evident that the teams are not going to "grab" these like candies falling from your festive piñata.
Please use the Suggest New Bands subforum in future, which is where I'll be moving these threads.

This post shows knowledge in using the Topic Search function, my padawan is now a proper Jedi. BTW I learnt about this back in the day from the Grand Jedi Master, Dean.

Les Champignons were definetely a prog band.Psych and prog and folk casually merged during the 70's in Québec.

to be honest, I kind of expected it, since the band evaluation collab forum seems to be the least frequented in the CZ... but I couldn' see another place in the CZ to place them.... even if a few people did open the thread, but after two days, there were no replies... But in the cse of the present, I knew they'd been proposed at least twice and it was unsuccessful (but not because of their music), which is why I did this last ditch effort (whatever a pinata is)

I think the best way for the genre teams to "grab these" is for you to post the thread in the suggestions forum and have Alex or I pre-eval it, and if the team we think it's best suited for thinks otherwise, it's sent to another team. (Or rejected, if that's the case).

BTW, this is a 70's band, and they had a rercording contract with their label Les Jeunes Artistes

If the evaluation in Psyche stalled because of their "unsigned" status yet they were signed to Les Jeunes Artistes then it would be logical to bump-start the Psyche evaluation again.
