Topic: Ozric Tentacles vs. Tangerine Dream Posted: December 29 2011 at 05:36 |
Both these bands are masters at making epic, psychedelic musical journeys. I have to say I like them equally. What's your opinion?

Ozric for the highest energy, Tangerine for the most variety.

I like Ozric Tentacles, but they are not in the same league as Tangerine Dream.

I think TD are light years ahead. Nowhere near the same league.

I'll vote for the Ozrics. Too much flotsam in TD's discog overall to give them my vote on this one. (Even though they've produced many great albums as well)

TD of course! They have many different styles that I really enjoy. OK, a couple that I don't too. OT is very good but they don't stray far from what they do best.

I vote for Ozric Tentacles. They are one of my favourite band and the best band of space rock, I think.

I like them both so either Ozric Dream or Tangerine Tentacles.
But TD in reality gets me just there... yep.....there...

Tangerine are too dreamy and slow for me

T Dream major points off for those dreadful post classic era Casio sounding recordings. Ozric "heard one you've heard 'em all" - maybe?
T Dream might shade it by dint of classic era albums and innovation. I know it's probably still not fashionable to say so but I thought Cyclone was a fabulous album. Otherwise too much sequencer use for my taste.
Go with my preferred choice in electro prog psych - Can!

Ozric Tentacles
|
A concert is a concert is a concert is a concert. An album is an album is an album is an album. Musically, both have nothing in common.

I don't listen to the Ozrics much these days. I've got their first 6 albums. I don't need any more. I listened to them endlessly in the 90's, when every weekend was a drugged blur. These days, I'd much rather chill with Tangerine Dream.
